Stitch 40 or so of them together into an album, and you've got the ideal accompaniment to a big cardio effort: fist-pumping upswings, mood-softening downshifts, and just enough memorable lyrics to keep your endorphins surging until it's time for a sit-down and some peanut butter scooped straight from the jar.

The selection Start with All Day: Girl Talk (Gregg Michael Gillis to his mother) is the Coachella-headlining king of the genre, and it's his masterwork (best combo: Twista's "Wetter" and U2's "With Or Without You") – though Feed The Animals (killer pairing: Radiohead vs Ol' Dirty Bastard) is also worth a go. Appetite whetted, you'll want to move onto the far-more-prolific White Panda – it's a close-run thing between Rematch (best mix: the Pet Shop Boys and Fatman Scoop's "Be Faithful"), The Pawprint and Bearly Legal, but the latter triumphs with a none-more-inspirational smashing-together of Rihanna's "Diamonds" and the Game Of Thrones theme. Honourable mentions? Bruneaux's The Art Of Noise, The Hood Internet's Mix Tape series and the Super Mash Bros are all glorious walls of sound. Please enjoy your resulting PB-storm responsibly.

FACE-PUNCHING WITH EVEN MORE DRAMA THAN THE UFC

This MMA drama – starring that guy who you vaguely remember from Warrior (Frank Grillo) and, uh, one of the Jonas brothers – is about to become the best reason to have a Virgin Media subscription. It's very much in the Sons Of Anarchy mould – everyone's got a Troubled Past™, and Drama! is constant – but is massively enlivened by some stunning fight choreography and the usual premium-cable blend of high-tempo swearing, frequent nudity (both sexes) and out-of-cage ultraviolence. Also, even if you're solely tuning in to watch him get pretend-kneed-in-the-face by genuine UFC fighters, you'll be rooting for Nick Jonas by the end of episode 1. Unexpected!

The London Coffee Festival is the caffeine-lover's Glastonbury: four glorious days of workshops, tastings and music, topped by the spectacle of 16 baristas going head-to-head in everything from espresso creation to latte art. Also, the whole weekend finishes with a seminar about pairing beer and smoked meats, for when you've had quite enough espresso.

YOU SHOULD BE DOING MORE PRESS-UPS – AND HERE'S HOW

In the May issue of Men's Fitness, Gym Jones general manager Rob "Bobby Maximus" MacDonald has the 16-minute workout solution for men on the go everywhere: four Tabatas' worth of bodyweight exercises and isometric holds that'll see you burning fat, building muscle and staying strong. But Rob has another solution for the man who wants to do more press-ups: The Grid. It's simple – just draw out a 10x10 grid on a piece of paper, do at least three press-ups and fill in the number in one grid square. Repeat throughout the day, with random numbers of press-ups, but make sure you fill in the whole grid. By the end of the day, you'll have done 300 press-ups – easily.
